In the wintertime, I notice that I tend to get a bit stuck in a fashion rut. My winter uniform is jeans, boots, and sweaters all season long, but that can be so boring! This winter, one of my fashion goals is to branch out my cold-weather closet, like with this floral mini skirt.
Incorporating unexpected pieces into your seasonal wardrobe makes the most memorable looks. I grabbed this particular floral mini skirt specifically because the print was “wintery” for a floral and a little different than the usual plaids and buffalo check patterns you see this time of year. To stay warm in a mini skirt, I paired it with a cozy pair of over-the-knee boots (which are just as practical for staying warm as stylish) and a turtleneck.
This is the perfect winter outfit for Dallas, where dipping below 40 means buying out all the bottled water at the grocery store in case there’s a blizzard (or some freezing rain!), but where it gets really cold I’d probably just add a pair of tights and an thick coat (I love this one).
