It’s that time of year again – winter coat buying season! Each winter I try to get myself at least one new coat to carry me through the winter season, and I tend to almost always end up buying one in November because all the newest styles have just come out and there’s plenty of sales going on. Below I’ve listed my 5 winter coat essentials that you need in your closet, along with some great options to grab right now!
ONE // Fur Coat
Fur coats are the ultimate winter statement piece, and have been super on trend the last few years. While a leopard print coat is definitely a staple, other colors and patterns can be just as versatile. These coats are perfect for dressier events and holiday parties, since a fur coat just look so glamourous. Style these over cocktail dresses and skirts, or when you just want to dress up your favorite pair of jeans!
TWO // Casual Parka
I’ll admit, I actually do not have one of these in my closet but I do have this North Face Parka on my wish-list! However I do live in Texas so cut me some slack… I love these types of coats because they’re both warm and comfy. I could definitely see myself wearing this all the time, whether with leggings and bean boots or dressed up with a cool pair of OTK boots and leather leggings.
THREE // Printed
I love statement pieces and coats and outerwear are not exempt! Black and camel coats will always be classics, but a printed statement coat would be the perfect way to upgrade any outfit!
FOUR // Classic Peacoat
If you don’t have a peacoat in your closet, I’m just don’t even know what you’re doing with your life! Classic peacoats are basically the definition of “winter coat essentials” and a staple to any closet. I love the one in the photo above because it adds a fun twist on the classic design. Below are some more of my favorite peacoats this winter!
FIVE // Classic Trench
Another classic must have in cooler weather is the trench coat. These are so versatile and perfect for those days when it’s cold in the morning but warmer in the afternoon. They basically go with any look – casual or dressy which is why they’re definitely on my list of closet essentials!
