Thanksgiving is officially just two days away! This year, I’m spending Thanksgiving in Louisiana with Jered’s family. It will be the first year I’m not spending it with my family, which will be a little weird, but I’m excited to start making some new holiday traditions!
Each year, I’m always a little bit at a loss on what to wear! On one hand, Thanksgiving is all about stuffing your face with turkey (there’s a dish literally called “stuffing…”), and on the other there’s always family photos being taken so I like to look a little bit put together. Below, are three Thanksgiving outfit ideas that will surely get you through the holiday weekend!
Depending on how formal your Thanksgiving meal is, you may want to dress up a bit for dinner. My family likes to invite friends and neighbors over and pull out the fine china so while I definitely don’t have to get all dolled up, I like to look more put together for the festivities and inevitable photos. This definitely doesn’t mean comfort goes out the window – because when planning any Thanksgiving outfit ideas, comfort is my first priority!
An easy Thanksgiving dinner look, especially if another family member is hosting, is to throw on a sweater dress. Sweater dresses are so popular right now, and for good reason, they are a great way to elevate any casual look plus they’re super comfy – bonus is I can hide my turkey filled food baby! Pair it with some over-the-knee boots and an infinity scarf for a cute and effortless Thanksgiving look!
Prepping for the big dinner is almost just as fun as Thanksgiving dinner itself! While I’m definitely no Master Chef, I do enjoy helping my mom out in the kitchen during the day on Thanksgiving. We usually spend the day decorating and cooking while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and the Ohio State or LSU game.
I tend to want to wear something different for the actual Thanksgiving dinner, mostly because I’ve probably split something on myself while cooking or baking. In all honesty, I usually wear pajamas until dinner time – but if you need to run errands, are having Thanksgiving at another family member’s house, or just want a casual but elevated look for dinner – throwing on a cute pair of booties with some boyfriend jeans and a sweater is the perfect way to achieve that!
I know some people hate it, but I LOVE Black Friday! I usually get all my Black Friday shopping done online but I do like going out at midnight and walking around some of the stores. If you’re planning on going Black Friday shopping be sure to dress the part! There’s nothing worse than having to stand in line in the freezing cold! A puffy parka, like this one, paired with leggings, boots, and a sweater will sure to keep you warm all night!
